SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to help patients with gunshot fractures of the femur in the subtrochanteric region. The method includes closed reduction on an orthopedic table, external osteosynthesis of a gunshot subtrochanteric fracture of the femur using an Ilizarov apparatus in a pin-rod arrangement. When performing osteosynthesis at the level of the proximal femur, a repositioning unit consisting of two segments connected by rods is created. In the area of the greater trochanter, three Shants rods are inserted into the central fragment, two of them are fixed in the base and one in the repositioning half-rings on external brackets, creating a triangle that fixes the proximal fragment.

EFFECT: method provides early rehabilitation and improvement of the anatomical and functional outcome of treatment due to stable rigid fixation of the central fragment, without fixation of the pelvic bones.
