FIELD: medicine; therapy; cardiology; ultrasound diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose stenotic atherosclerosis of peripheral arteries. Gender, age, LDL cholesterol level, arterial hypertension and smoking status, as well as Achilles tendon thickness normalized to body surface area are assessed. Using the obtained indicators, the probability of detecting asymptomatic stenotic atherosclerosis (F) is calculated according to a given formula. If the F value is 0.5 or more, the presence of asymptomatic stenotic atherosclerosis of the peripheral arteries is diagnosed, and if the F value is less than 0.5, the absence of asymptomatic stenotic atherosclerosis of the peripheral arteries is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the accuracy of diagnostics of asymptomatic stenosing atherosclerosis of the peripheral arteries by increasing the diagnostic efficiency of assessing the thickness of the Achilles tendons through the use of an indicator of the thickness of the specified structure, normalized to the body surface area.
