FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: measurement techniques in the VHF and UHF ranges can be used for non-destructive measurement of the comprehensive ground dielectric constant spectra in field conditions. A device for measuring the spectra of the ground dielectric constant in a wide frequency band, which is a segment of a symmetrical strip line (SSL) with thin current-carrying conductors, allowing for minimal impact on the ground during field measurements and increasing the upper limit of the measured spectrum of the ground dielectric constant, containing a working area for filling the substance under study and two transition parts from the input coaxial line to the working area and back from the end of the working area to the output coaxial line, filled with a solid dielectric, the distance between the external electrodes of the SSL in the transition parts from the coaxial UHF connectors at the input and output to the working area filled with the dielectric under study, changes from a minimum distance equal to the outer diameter of the UHF connector to a distance equal to the distance between the external electrodes of the SSL in the working area, according to a linear law, while the width of the central strip changes accordingly so as to provide a characteristic impedance equal to a resistance of 50 Ohms generator in each section of the transition parts.
EFFECT: increasing the frequency of measuring complex dielectric constant using a segment of a symmetrical strip line with a large cross section.
