FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to create a modern system for diagnostic monitoring of the condition of the rolling surfaces of the wheels of a wheelset as it moves along the railway in real time. A system for diagnostic monitoring of the condition of the rolling surfaces of wheels of a wheel set is claimed, containing a pair of optical sensors for each wheel of the wheel set, each of which is made in the form of an autonomous microprocessor module installed on a vibration-resistant platform and connected to a local information processing device connected to the railway information centre. One of the sensors is installed at the level of the inner side surface of the wheel, and the other - at the level of its outer side surface. To synchronize the operation of all optical sensors, a magnetic pedal mounted on the rail is used. The system includes two additional magnetic pedals, which are located symmetrically along the rail on both sides of the main pedal, and the distance between the centres of the additional magnetic pedals corresponds to the diameter of the wheel tread surface of the wheelset.
EFFECT: influence of uneven movement of the wheel in the area of measuring its tread surface profile is eliminated.
