FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for automated monitoring of the technical condition of axle boxes of railway rolling stock. The diagnostic monitoring system for the condition of axle boxes of a wheel pair contains a pair of optical sensors for each wheel of the wheel pair, connected to a local information processing device, with one of the sensors installed outside the wheel at the level of its axle box, and the other at the level of the inner side surface of the wheel. Each of the optical sensors is made in the form of an autonomous microprocessor module installed on a vibration-resistant platform and connected to a local information processing device, which is connected to the railway information centre. To synchronize the operation of all optical sensors, a magnetic pedal mounted on the rail is used. The system includes two additional magnetic pedals, which are located symmetrically along the rail on both sides of the main pedal, and the distance between the centres of the additional magnetic pedals corresponds to the diameter of the wheel of the wheel pair.
EFFECT: influence of uneven movement of the wheel in the area of measuring the profiles of its side surfaces is eliminated.
