FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a shaped catalyst for the oxidation of ethanol to acetone, characterized by using a mixture of oxides from zinc oxide 96.58 -97.9 wt.% and cerium oxide 2.1 -3.42 wt.%, characterized by the following: the mixer, in quantities of wt.% from the mass of the taken oxides, the paste of the mixture of oxides is moistened with water 20 wt.% and mixed with nitric acid 10 wt.%, boehmite in the amount of 17 wt.%, magnesium oxide 4, 4 wt.%, 40% aqueous solution of polyethylene glycol 2000 or 30% aqueous solution of polyethylene glycol 4000 10 wt.%, the resulting extrusion mass is extruded in a screw-type extruder with a die diameter of 5–6 mm at a screw speed in the range of 40–50 rpm, the formed extrudates are dried in air at room temperature for 24 hours and subjected to step-by-step heat treatment, first in a convection oven at 80°C for 1 hour, at 100°C for 2 hours, at 120°C for 2 hours; at 150°C for 4 hours; at 200°C for 2 hours; then in a muffle furnace at 250° C for 2 hours and at 300°C for 4 hours.
EFFECT: obtaining a molded catalyst for the oxidation of ethanol to acetone with a crushing strength along the generatrix of 0.9–1.0 MPa, suitable for use in industrial reactors for the oxidation of ethanol to acetone.
