FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves melt electrolysis, containing potassium, sodium, aluminium fluorides, charging scandium oxide into the melt and carrying out the electrolysis of the molten mixture with scandium oxide in an electrolyser at a temperature of 800-850°C and the cathode current density is not higher than 1A/cm2 with regular discharge of aluminium master alloy from the cell and the loading of scandium oxide and metallic aluminium into a cell with a molten mixture. Scandium oxide is charged into the molten mixture in an amount of 3-6% by weight of the molten mixture, and metallic aluminium in an amount that provides an aluminium-molten mixture ratio in the cell of 1:1-4.
EFFECT: continuous production of master alloy and cost reduction of aluminium alloy obtained from the master alloy.
