FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises a continuous flow bath having an anode, systems for inlet and outlet of an electrolyte, controlled inlet and outlet of water, a mechanism for rotating an article, supports for the article, a current source and current leads and an exhaust system. The bath is provided with partition walls which form a chrome-plating chamber between themselves, and overflow chambers between themselves and adjacent walls of the bath, wherein the external end walls of the bath and partition walls have profiled recesses coaxial to the article, and the overflow chambers are linked to the electrolyte outlet system, wherein the partition walls of the bath are provided with removable flaps installed in the profiled recesses of the partition walls, and have profiled recesses lying coaxial to the article. The apparatus is provided with a device for horizontal movement of the bath along the article, and the bath is provided with an additional partition wall with a removable flap to form an additional chamber in the bath on the side where the finished article exits the bath. The apparatus is also provided with a device for heating the article before chrome-plating, placed on the side where the article enters the bath.

EFFECT: obtaining a long article of high quality while reducing the amount of electrolyte used and reducing dimensions of the bath relative to the length of the processed article, improved environmental properties.
