FIELD: cooking equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cooktop containing a hood or a downdraft fan. The cooktop includes a support surface for supporting one or more pans, an exhaust duct passing through the support surface, and a ventilation system located under the support surface and fluidly connected to the exhaust duct for sucking air from above the support surface down through the exhaust duct. The exhaust duct includes an inlet end, an outlet end, and a convex inner surface extending between the inlet end and the outlet end. Moreover, the convex inner surface is made in the form of an inwardly curved wall surface of the exhaust pipeline located along the circumference, having an internal width in the exhaust pipeline that varies from the inlet end to the outlet end, with the smallest internal width formed between the inlet end and the outlet end. The convex inner surface contains an inner surface with an aerodynamic profile. The inlet end of the exhaust duct contains the leading edge of the inner surface with an airfoil, and the outlet end contains the trailing edge of the inner surface with an airfoil.
EFFECT: low noise level and higher efficiency of extraction and vapor capture during cooking.
