FIELD: medicine; clinical and experimental traumatology and orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: cavity is formed on the medial surface of the proximal metaepiphysis of the tibia of a laboratory rabbit. After cutting the skin and spreading the soft tissue to the level of the periosteum, it is dissected and separated from the bone, then using an engraver with an attachment in the form of a circular disk with a diamond tip, a bone flap is cut out, the said flap is left in a solution of aqueous chlorhexidine. The contents of the bone cavity are removed and the inner walls of the cavity are treated with a club-shaped nozzle to thin them. The formed bone cavity is filled with the test material, after which the cavity is closed with a previously cut bone flap, fixed by suturing the periosteum and overlying soft tissues over it.
EFFECT: method is easy to use, allows to obtain an adequate model of the bone cavity for studying bone-replacing materials and their osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties, and preserves the supporting ability of the pelvic limbs in laboratory animals.
