SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electric appliance (1) for cooking, containing a lower electric heating element (12) connected to a lower cooking panel, and an upper electrical heating element (22) connected to an upper cooking panel, wherein said electric cooking device (1) contains first (13) and second (23) temperature measuring elements. According to the invention, a median plane (P) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (D) of the panels divides the lower cooking panel into the first and second lower panel halves, and the upper cooking panel into the first and second upper panel halves, wherein either the first temperature measuring element (13) is located on the first lower half of the panel, and the second temperature measuring element (23) is located on the second upper half of the panel, or the first temperature measuring element (13) is located on the second lower half of the panel, and the second element (23 ) for measuring temperature is located on the first upper half of the panel, wherein said electric kitchen appliance (1) contains the first lower electrical switch configured to enable or interrupt the supply of power to the lower electrical heating element (12) and the second upper electrical switch configured to enable or disable power supply to the upper electric heating element (22).
