SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing pet food, including: preparing the first edible composition in the form of a sauce containing from 0.1 to 5.0 wt.% methyl cellulose, at the first temperature, wherein the first temperature is from 10 to 26°C; placing the first sauce-containing layer in a container; heating the container containing the sauce to the second temperature to gel the sauce; placing the second layer containing the second edible composition, which is a meat emulsion, in the container and on top of the first layer, the first layer and the second layer being separate layers.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain an edible composition for pets.
