FIELD: fodder production.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to pet food and a method for producing it. Method for producing pet food includes the addition of a moist food product to a dry food product, wherein the moist food comprises water and an ingredient selected from the group consisting of modified starch, gum, and a combination thereof, and which has a viscosity of 2,500 to 4,000 cP, measured at room temperature. Moreover, the dry food product withstands without breaking approximately the same maximum compressive force for at least 2.5 hours after the addition of the moist food product.
EFFECT: group of inventions makes it possible to obtain a moist pet food that can be combined with a dry pet food and preserve flavor, texture and attractive appearance of the combination obtained over a longer period of time compared to mixtures of known wet feeds with dry food.
