FIELD: ultrasonic testing.
SUBSTANCE: non-destructive testing of products made of nitride ceramics, namely ultrasonic testing for the presence of defects. A method for ultrasonic non-destructive testing of products made of nitride ceramics for the presence of defects, which consists in the fact that ultrasonic waves are emitted and received in the tested product through an inclined prism, the product is scanned with an ultrasonic transducer using transverse ultrasonic waves, while the amplitude of the reflected echo signals is controlled, and a single increase in the amplitude of the echo signal indicates the presence of a defect. In this case, before testing, the product and the control sample are impregnated by placing them in liquid for at least 10 minutes, the product is controlled through a replaceable inclined prism, which provides an angle of input of ultrasonic waves in nitride ceramics from 30° up to 60°, and during scanning the ultrasonic transducer is stopped and turned at angles from -30° up to +30° relative to a given direction.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability of products made of nitride ceramics by increasing the reliability of the results of non-destructive ultrasonic testing of products for the presence of discontinuities (cracks, cavities, etc.).
