FIELD: controlled suspensions.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of controlled suspensions of alkali metal hydroxides in aprotic organic solvents, which can be used as reagents for desulfurization and production of various oil fractions in oil refining processes, as a catalyst in the production of biodiesel fuel. The method (options) for producing an organodispersion of lithium, sodium or potassium hydroxide includes the first stage of selecting a sample of alkali metal hydroxide and its dry processing in a grinder under a gas cap. At the second stage, a sample of dispersed alkali metal hydroxide powder is mixed with a stable organic solvent and a stabilizing additive in the weight ratio of organic solvent: alkali metal hydroxide: stabilizing additive = from 99:1:0.01 to 60:40:0.1. At the third stage, the resulting mixture is subjected to wet grinding using a dispersing device that provides the shear rate necessary to grind the dispersed phase to a dispersion of no more than 10 mcm, and at the fourth stage, the resulting suspension is drained from the dispersing device, if necessary, separated from the grinding media and filtered to separate large particles, which are subsequently recycled for redispersion. The target product is obtained with a dispersion of no more than 10 mcm.

EFFECT: providing a method (embodiments) for producing a stable organodispersion of alkali metal hydroxides with a particle size of up to 10 mcm with reduced energy costs.
