FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process of L-glufosinate production. Invention also relates to a process for the preparation of an L-glufosinate intermediate from an L-homoserine derivative. The method includes the stage (stage a) of obtaining a compound of chemical formula 2 from a compound of chemical formula 1. Wherein, stage a includes: (i) a stage (stage b) of obtaining a compound of chemical formula 3 by reacting a compound of chemical formula 1 with a first basic catalyst, or (ii) a stage (stage b-1) of obtaining a compound of chemical formula 4 by reacting a compound of chemical formula 4 1 with a second acid catalyst, as well as the stage of obtaining a compound of chemical formula 2 from a compound of chemical formula 3 or a compound of chemical formula 4. In these formulas, R1 is Ra -(C=O)-, where Ra is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, etc.; R2 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl a group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, etc.; X is halogen.
EFFECT: proposed method allows to obtain an intermediate compound of glufosinate to obtain L-glufosinate with high optical purity and L-glufosinate with high yield.
