FIELD: weighing equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for weighing railway cars. The device comprises four strain gauges and four temperature sensors combined with them, analogue signal converters and a processor that supplies these signals to a computer located several hundred meters away from the wheel load meter. The distance between the sensors along the length of the rail in the intersleeper space is determined for each type of rail by an algorithm that provides for the combination in time of the maximum values of the strain sensor signals.

EFFECT: no need for modifications to the upper track, the design of the rail, elimination of prerequisites for emergency situations, as well as increasing the accuracy of measurements.
