FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of fibrous material from fat and oil production waste. The method of producing a fibrous semi-finished product includes preliminary hydrolytic or chemical-hydrolytic activation of sunflower husks by extracting or soaking the raw material at a hydromodulus of 1:8–10, atmospheric pressure and temperature of 80–100°C to a flexible plastic state of the raw material mass. Chemical and hydrolytic treatment is carried out in a solution of a reagent selected from the following range: NaOH; HNO3; Na2S2O4; Na2SO3; Na2CO3. The separated raw material mass is subjected to defibration in an aqueous medium at a hydromodulus of 1:16–20 by mechanical action until fibres are formed with a degree of grinding of 58–73° ShR or 10–28° SR. The resulting heterogeneous suspension is separated into fibrous material and an aqueous solution. The aqueous solution is subjected to mechanical purification, diluted with fresh water and returned to the technological cycle.

EFFECT: ensuring expansion of the range of fibrous semi-finished products based on sunflower husks, production of fibrous material with high yield, high alpha-cellulose content and high paper-forming properties while reducing the amount of biomass loss, reducing material and energy costs and simplifying the method of producing fibrous semi-finished products.
