SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method and a system for determining the temperature of a molten metal bath. Disclosed is a method for measuring the temperature of a molten metal bath in a furnace, comprising feeding a cable tip with a fibre-optic core to the molten metal bath and obtaining temperature information using a detector, wherein furnace inclination represents the angle through which the furnace is inclined, and said inclination angle is defined relative to rotation axis (Ap). According to the declared method: (a) providing a set of data relating the furnace inclination angles FI to corresponding measurement profiles MP; (b) determining the inclination angle FI(n) of the furnace for time t(n); (c) selecting a measurement profile MP(n) corresponding to the furnace inclination angle FI(n) from the provided set of data relating the furnace inclination angles FI to the corresponding measurement profiles MP; wherein the measurement profile is a sequence of steps which is carried out to obtain the temperature of the molten metal bath, (d) the selected measurement profile MP(n) is used at time t(n) to obtain the measured temperature value. Also disclosed is a system for measuring temperature of a bath with molten metal in a furnace.
EFFECT: improving accuracy and information value of obtained temperature values for installations of metallurgical tanks, which are constantly moved during metal manufacturing.
