SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 6-aryl-substituted 5-acetyl-4-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-4-methylhexahydropyrimidin-2-ones (thiones) of structural formula

where R=C6H5, or 4-ClC6H4, or 4-MeC6H4, or 4-MeOC6H4, X=O or S, which involves reaction of 4-aryl-substituted 5-acetyl-6-methyldihydropyrimidin-2-ones (thiones) and benzene-1,3-diol.
EFFECT: method of producing 6-aryl-substituted 5-acetyl-4-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-4-methyl-hexahydropyrimidin-2-ones (thions) enables to obtain new substituted hexahydropyrimidin-2-ones (thiones), which have not been previously described, which can be used as precursors for synthesis of biologically active substances and medicinal preparations.
