SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of isolating a fraction of endogenous beta-defensins from placental tissue. A method of isolating a fraction of endogenous beta-defensins from placental tissue, including grinding, homogenization, virus inactivation with acetic acid at pH 5.0–5.5, enzymatic hydrolysis with a 2% pepsin solution of the original volume for 1 hour and with medium correction with Versene solution, clarification hydrolyzate with a solution of hydrogen peroxide with a final concentration of 0.6%, sterilizing filtration through fine-porous filters with a pore diameter of 0.2 microns, exposure to ultrasound, liquid chromatography with Sephadex G-25, and the resulting fraction contains defensin beta 1 in an amount of 77.095 ng/ ml.

EFFECT: above invention makes it possible to extract a fraction of endogenous beta-defensins from placental tissue, characterized by a beta 1 defensin content of 77.095 ng/ml.
