FIELD: hydroacoustics.
SUBSTANCE: acoustic profilers designed for remote study of the structure of the bottom, in order to determine the types of sedimentary soils and identify objects immersed in the soil. The result is achieved by proposing a parametric profiler, which consists of a two-channel high-frequency emitting antenna 1, a first low-frequency receiving antenna 3, a second low-frequency receiving antenna 4, a two-channel generator device 2, a two-channel receiving unit 5, a two-channel digital signal processing unit 6, a two-channel unit 9 calculating the time of contact with the interfaces of media, block 12 of classification, block 13 of calculating the angle of arrival of the echo signal, block 10 of determining the distance to the “water-soil” interface and estimating the thickness of layers, block 11 of accounting for the vertical distribution of sound speed, block 8 of control and recording data, indicator 7.
EFFECT: providing an estimate of the angle of arrival of echo signals in the vertical plane for use in calculating the distance to the water-soil interface, which leads to a reduction in the methodological error in estimating the specified distance.
