FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: described is an expression vector based on human adenovirus serotype 5 inducing cross-protective immunity to influenza A subtype H3 viruses. What is also described is a pharmaceutical composition for protection against influenza A subtype H3 viruses containing said expression vector in an effective amount. Also described is the use of the pharmaceutical composition for protecting a subject from influenza A subtype H3 viruses and in the composition of an influenza vector vaccine.

EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining an expression vector based on human adenovirus serotype 5 with deletion of E1 and E3 regions, carrying a modified hemagglutinin gene of influenza A virus of antigenically distant subtype H3, capable of providing induction of cross-protective immunity against infection caused by influenza A subtype H3 viruses pathogenic for humans, without antigen imprinting effect when administered to a subject as part of a pharmaceutical composition or an influenza vaccine.
