SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiac surgery. Intraoperative venous blood is sampled for laboratory analysis immediately after shunt application; blood plasma lactoferrin concentration is determined; P is calculated by original formula. And if P is more than 36%, developing small cardiac output syndrome is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables the intraoperative prediction of the development of acute cardiac failure following the coronary bypass surgery due to the intraoperative determination of the concentration of lactoferrin, which is an acute phase protein; this allows correcting the surgical approach in a timely manner before the evident signs of small cardiac output syndrome appear.
