SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing thermoplastic elastomers based on diene hydrocarbons and α-methylstyrene. The method involves the production of thermoplastic elastomers by block copolymerizationα -methylstyrene, butadiene or isoprene in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of an organolithium compound, an electron donor additive, which is methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) or without its use, and a modifier, which is an alkali and alkaline earth metal alcoholate. The following is used as a modifier: sodium-calcium-barium or sodium-potassium-calcium-barium or lithium-calcium-barium alkoxide of high-boiling alcohols N,N,N',N'-tetra (β-hydroxypropyl)ethylenediamine (Lapramol-294) and tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, or ethylcarbitol, or butylcellosolve, or ethylcellosolve, or mixtures thereof in toluene in the molar ratio of Lapramol-294: tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol, or ethylcarbitol, or butylcellosolve, or ethylcellosolve, or mixtures thereof, equal to 1.0:4.0, with a molar ratio of organolithium compound: modifier equal to 1.0: 0.01-0.5, which is supplied during block polymerization α-methylstyrene, followed by combination of active diblock copolymers with a polyfunctional coupling agent.

EFFECT: simplifying the synthesis technology and obtaining a thermoplastic elastomer with improved physical, mechanical and adhesive properties while achieving full conversion α-methylstyrene.
