FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention provides a method of producing a composition containing a purified fluorine-containing ether compound. Method of producing a composition containing a purified fluorine-containing ether compound, involves (A) a reaction in the presence of a fluorine-containing ether compound and a fluorine-containing olefin compound. Fluorine-containing ether compound has formula (1): CHX1X2CF2OX3, where X1 and X2 are identical or different. Each represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a trifluoromethyl group. X3 is a C1-6 alkyl group provided that both X1 and X2 are not trifluoromethyl groups. Fluorine-containing olefin compound is represented by formula (2): CX1X2=CF(CF2)nOX3, where n is 0 or 1, and X1, X2 and X3 are as defined above, provided that when X1 or X2 is a trifluoromethyl group, n is equal to 0. Both X1 and X2 are not trifluoromethyl groups, with a halogenating agent and/or an oxidising agent for converting a fluorine-containing olefin compound of formula (2) into a halogen adduct and/or oxide. As a result, a composition containing a fluorine-containing ether compound of formula (1) and an adduct of a halogen and/or oxide is obtained. Further, the halogen and/or oxide adduct is separated from the composition obtained at step (A) to obtain a composition containing a purified fluorine-containing ether compound.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a composition containing a purified fluorine-containing ether compound of formula: CHX1X2CF2OX3, where X1 and X2 are identical or different, and each represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom or a trifluoromethyl group, and X3 is a C1-6 alkyl group provided that both X1 and X2 are not trifluoromethyl groups.
