FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to toxicology, experimental biology. Method involves daily intragastric administration of a detoxicant and antimony chloride solution. As a detoxicant, the antioxidant melaxen in dose of 5 mg/kg is introduced in rats from the first day of the experiment through a probe into the stomach for two months. Antimony solution is introduced through a probe into the stomach once a day for two months in dose of 3 mg/kg in terms of metal, where per unit of solution equal to 1 ml there is 0.3 mg of antimony.
EFFECT: method enables considerably reducing the severity of nephrotoxic action of antimony in chronic poisoning due to the cytoprotective action of the antioxidant melatonin, and considerably improving the morphofunctional state of the kidneys.
