SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology, experimental medicine, toxicology and can be used in the study and development of mechanisms for the prevention of toxic nephropathy caused by prolonged exposure to heavy metals on the body, in particular chromium. The method includes the introduction of melatonin and potassium bichromate. Every day for two months, rats are injected through a tube into the stomach with melatonin at a dose of 5 mg/kg and an aqueous solution of potassium dichromate at a dose of 0.5 mg/kg of rat weight, where per solution unit equal to 0.5 ml, there are 0.05 mg of chromium for metal.
EFFECT: invention provides reduction of nephrotoxic effect of chromium in rats with chronic poisoning.
