FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and specifically to methods of protecting active radar stations for detecting aerial targets from signal-like multiple return-pulse interference received along the main beam of the radar antenna pattern. In the disclosed method, the technical result is achieved by localizing a spatial sector containing interference and target signals that have exceeded the primary threshold, calculating the likelihood ratio for each signal based on estimates of its angular coordinates and the signal-to-noise ratio. Likelihood ratio is compared with a secondary threshold, when it is exceeded, a decision is made that the signal is reflected by the target, otherwise the signal is generated by the jammer.
EFFECT: selection of target signals and multiple response-pulse jamming with identical structure and energy, when they are received along the main beam of the antenna pattern of the radar station for detecting aerial targets with monopulse direction-finding.
