FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to obstetrics and operative gynaecology. Cesarean section involves compression of uterine segments and introduction of uterotonic preparations. Uterotonic preparation oxytocin is administered by means of an infusion pump at rate of 125 ml/min. Method includes performing controlled balloon tamponade with installation of double-balloon intrauterine and vaginal catheters, suturing in lower uterine segment. Then misoprostol 800 mcg is administered rectally. Terlipressin is introduced into the uterine incision site – into the thickness of the myometrium in a dose of up to 0.4 mg diluted to 10 ml with 0.9% sodium chloride. Uterus is brought upwards and anteriorly, and starting from the right side, the uterine vessels are ligated with the uterus deviating to the left, controlling the pulse on the uterine artery, then the uterus is deflected to the right, the uterine vessels are ligated on the left and a compression suture is applied.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the risk of postpartum haemorrhage and the need for peripartum hysterectomy.
