FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an antibacterial coating on an orthopaedic implant from titanium and its alloys, consisting of the following layers: first is from titanium oxide, second is from 90 wt.% titanium oxide and 10 wt.% copper oxide, third is surface degradable film-forming layer obtained from 5% aqueous solution of polyvinylpyrrolidone containing active substance. Active substance in the third layer is 0.5 wt.% copper oxide (first embodiment of the coating) or mixture of 0.5 wt.% copper oxide, 0.3 wt.% acetylcysteine and 0.01 wt.% chymotrypsin (second embodiment of coating). Also disclosed is a method of producing said coatings, involving preliminary sandblasting of the surface of the implant with aluminium oxide particles with subsequent production of a deep two-layer coating on it by micro-arc oxidation in aqueous alkaline electrolyte NaOH with copper oxide added to it and applying a third coating layer by dipping/drawing the surface through a polyvinylpyrrolidone solution containing active substances, with further dehydration in a thermostat.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to make coatings providing consistent antibiofilm and antibacterial effect on implanted metal structures and surrounding soft tissues in both short-term and long-term perspective.
