FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of separating a biomolecule from a cell culture. Method includes (a) providing magnetic particles containing ligands capable of binding a biomolecule; (b) bringing a cell culture containing a biomolecule into contact with magnetic particles; (c) retention of magnetic particles in magnetic separator; (d) at least one continuous washing step, comprising: (d1) mixing the magnetic particles and (d2) providing a flow of washing liquid to remove the cell culture; (e) mixing the magnetic particles by applying an alternating magnetic field to form a fluidized bed of magnetic particles in the magnetic separator; (f) providing an elution fluid flow to elute the bound biomolecule from the magnetic particles.
EFFECT: present invention provides effective trapping and purification of biomolecules from cell culture, which reduces time and increases cost effectiveness of the method.
