FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal diseases and can be used to predict the risk of osteoporotic fractures of the lumbar spine in males over 45 years old living in the Volga–Ural region. DNA is recovered from peripheral venous blood lymphocytes. Polymorphic variants rs3102734 and rs2073617 of the OPG gene and rs1712 of the FBXO5 gene are genotyped by polymerase chain reaction. Level of bone mineral density in the lumbar spine is measured. If observing polymorphic variants T rs3102734, T rs2073617 of the OPG gene, T rs1712 of the FBXO5 gene and the level of bone mineral density in the lumbar spine < 2.5 according to the T-criterion, risk of osteoporotic fractures of the lumbar spine is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides higher accuracy of prediction of risk of osteoporotic fractures of lumbar spine by genotyping of polymorphic variants of OPG and FBXO5 genes and measurement of level of mineral density of bone tissue in lumbar spine of men over 45 years old.
