FIELD: beverage preparation devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a capsule containing a beverage ingredient for preparing beverages. Capsule (1) contains body (10) through which water is introduced and closing cover (11) through which a beverage is dispensed. Closing cover is tightly fixed on said housing (10), and said inner volume is formed between them. Capsule (1) is made from biodegradable materials; the body has a three-dimensional shape. Closing cover (11) is flat, wherein said closing cover (11) is made from material with puncture resistance in range of 3 N/15 mm to 10 N/15 mm for elongation of 1.5 mm to 3 mm. In addition, the housing is made either from a multilayer material, wherein said multilayer material comprises a paper layer and a plastic sealing layer having a tensile strength of at least 2%, preferably from 2% to 20%, or a monolayer material, wherein said monolayer material consists of plastic having a tensile strength in range of 2% to 1000%.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at providing a package for a portion of coffee, preferably for a portion of pressed coffee, which is biodegradable, preferably compostable, in the functional structure of which special opening properties are provided for proper extraction.
