CATALYTIC REACTOR WITH FLOATING PARTICLE CATCHER Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC B01J4/00 B01J8/02

Abstract RU 2816824 C2

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalytic chemical reactor with separation of particles. More specifically, the invention relates to a reactor with a particle separator, which is supported by a catalyst layer inside the reactor. Catalytic reactor includes a catalyst bed, at least one floating particle catcher unit, which is a combined assembly of a particle catcher and a fluid distributor, adapted to catch particles and impurities from the process fluid entering the catalytic reactor before they reach the catalyst bed, and uniform distribution of the process fluid over the top of the catalyst bed, wherein said floating particle catcher unit includes: a base section including an upper surface of the base section, a lower surface of the base section, which is made with possibility of floating support on the catalyst bed, screen and particle catcher unit outlet; channel, in the upper part of which there is an inlet of the particle catcher unit; a particle catching surface located above and near the upper part of the catalyst bed and configured to catch and retain said particles and impurities; in which the channel is mechanically connected to the base section and is configured to provide a fluid flow from the inlet of the particle catcher unit, through the channel, further, through the base section, which distributes the process fluid evenly over the catalyst layer, through the outlet of the particle catcher unit, which is covered with a screen, and the floating particle catcher unit is supported by the catalyst layer.

EFFECT: providing long-term efficient operation of a catalytic chemical reactor, which does not require installation of supports and which is simple and fast to install and maintain.
