FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining temperature of a steel article. Method includes a calibration step, a measurement step and a comparison step. At the calibration stage, radiation intensity of the reference radiation source is recorded in range from 0.9 to 2.1 mcm for different measurement conditions and spectral attenuation coefficients are calculated. At the measurement stage, radiation intensity of the steel article is recorded in range from 0.9 to 2.1 mcm and spectral attenuation coefficients are calculated for different temperatures. At the comparison stage, a probabilistic test is carried out to determine the most probable attenuation coefficient and the temperature of the steel product is determined as equal to the temperature, corresponding to the most probable attenuation coefficient.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of steel temperature measurement.
