FIELD: packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cover for a container, in particular for a jar. Cover for container comprises a cover surface with a first opening passing through the cover surface; internal element, located on the inner side of the cover surface and having a vent hole passing through the inner member and aligned with the first hole; and an actuator located on the outer side of the cover surface. Actuator has a joint area dividing the actuator into a first and a second part; wherein first part of actuator is made so that it rests on surface of cover; second part of actuating element is made with possibility of rotation around area of joint relative to first part, and the second part comprises a stud for closing the vent hole. Stud comprises a latching element, in particular a latching bead, passing preferably around the tenon and made with possibility of latching in recess of internal element and release from it. Cover according to the present invention is characterized by the presence of a locking element for locking the latching element in the recess, wherein the locking element locks the latched latching element in the locked position, and in the unlocked position of the locking element, the locking element is detachable from the recess for disconnecting the stud in the vent hole to open the vent hole.

EFFECT: provision of possibility to prevent unintentional opening under action of pressure acting from inside, as well as provision of safe multiple closure of ventilation hole.
