SUBSTANCE: invention relates to video encoding means. Initial value of the intra-frame prediction mode for the chrominance component of the current coding unit is obtained. Obtaining the intra-frame prediction mode mapped value for the chrominance component of the current coding unit in accordance with a given mapping ratio and an initial value of the intra-frame prediction mode, when the value of the colour format indication information for the current coding unit is equal to the predetermined value, wherein the predetermined value is equal to 2. At that the specified value is equal to 2 means that the chromaticity format is 4:2:2. Current coding unit is encoded in accordance with the displayed intra-frame prediction mode value. Table is used to demonstrate the given mapping ratio.
EFFECT: high efficiency of video encoding.
