SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of performing a switch switching using a drive system and to a corresponding system. Method of performing switching of switch (17) and drive system (3) for switch (17) to perform switching provide switching from current switching position (SJ) to target switching position (SJ + K) of switching of switch (17). For this purpose, the first value for the first position (PI) of drive shaft (16) of drive system (3) is determined by means of feedback system (4). Besides, the value of the second position (PH) of drive shaft (16) is determined on the basis of the achieved target position (SJ + K) of switching of switch (17). From the difference between the value for the first position (PI) and the value for the second position (PH), motor (12) is controlled accordingly until the value of the second position (PH) of drive shaft (16) is reached and thus the target position (SJ + K) switching.

EFFECT: providing reliable switching and, as a result, ensuring safe switching.
