FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection system of engine of tracked and wheeled vehicles against overshoot by angular speed of crankshaft rotation. To protect the engine of the tracked and wheeled machines from overshooting as to angular speed, a toroidal element with an additional blade system is attached to the pump wheel by means of a hydrodynamic transmission, thus forming a hydrodynamic retarder rotor. To housing of complex hydrodynamic transmission is attached additional disk with blade system on side of pump wheel of hydraulic transformer, forming stator of hydrodynamic retarder. Changeover of complex hydrodynamic transmission from torque transformation mode to hydrodynamic retarder mode and back is performed by electronic control unit.
EFFECT: increase in the service life of the friction elements of the stopping brakes of tracked and wheeled vehicles is achieved.
