FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to eliminate protrusion of a keratoprosthesis. That is ensured by cutting out a temporal muscle fascia autograft with diameter of 15 mm. A hole is formed in the center of the obtained autograft with diameter of 3 mm. Cut out autograft is dissected through radial cut from central hole, symmetric arched incisions of the conjunctiva are performed with length of 15 mm, 6 mm above and 6 mm below the optical cylinder of the keratoprosthesis, conjunctiva and scar tissue above and below the keratoprosthesis are cut off from the sclera, not reaching the optical cylinder by 1 mm, two subconjunctival tunnels are formed medially and laterally to the optical cylinder between the upper and lower arched incisions of the conjunctiva, autograft is placed above the support plate of the keratoprosthesis, passing the cut ends of the autograft through the conjunctival incisions and subconjunctival tunnels, autograft is fixed along the perimeter with episcleral interrupted sutures, cut ends of autograft are sutured with interrupted sutures, conjunctival incisions are closed with interrupted sutures.

EFFECT: invention enables to minimize tissue damage, eliminate the risk of overgrowing the optical cylinder of the keratoprosthesis in the postoperative period, reliably close the protrusion zone and strengthen the leukoma, reducing risks of recurrence of protrusion due to formation of dense adhesions with underlying tissues of eye surface.
