FIELD: medicine; physiotherapy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to physiotherapy, and can be used for rehabilitation of patients after surgical treatment of intervertebral discs by microdiscectomy. Terahertz therapy is performed with the help of an IR-therapy apparatus with a ceramic coating of the “ЭМИР” radiator, the radiator of which is placed over the lumbar spine in L₁-S₁ segments. Exposure is carried out in a continuous mode with terahertz radiation with power of 60 W. Air gap is 30–50 cm: first 4 procedures — 50 cm, from 5th procedure — 30 cm. Exposure time is as follows: first 2 procedures for 8 minutes, then 2 procedures for 10 minutes, then 6–8 procedures for 15 minutes. Therapeutic course includes 10–12 daily procedures.

EFFECT: method provides more effective rehabilitation, as well as promotes recovery of nerve conduction.
