FIELD: rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway track superstructure maintenance, particularly, to tamping units. Tamping machine frame accommodates vibrator with eccentric shaft and tamping tools. Tools are pivotally fixed on the frame by means of levers and power cylinders of compression-unclamping. On each side of vertical plane passing through axis of eccentric shaft there is a pair of tamping tools of differently directed action. Said tools are coupled with said eccentric shaft of vibrator. In initial position, tools are located in one vertical plane.
EFFECT: operation of four tools from one vibrator is provided.
