FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to cytology, and discloses a method for concentrating cellular material in exudates for cytological examination of malignant neoplasms. Method is characterized in obtaining an exudate by laparocentesis or pneumocentesis, adding a 5 % sodium citrate anticoagulant solution in a ratio of 10:1, transferring the exudate to a dropping funnel and maintaining for 60 minutes until an enriched bottom layer forms, transferring 20–50 ml of the enriched bottom layer of the exudate from the dropping funnel into centrifuge tubes and centrifuging, draining the supernatant, transferring the concentrated cell residue to a slide and carrying out cytological examination.
EFFECT: method provides increased accuracy of cytological diagnosis of malignant neoplasms and can be used in oncology, gynecology and clinical laboratory diagnostics.
