FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to clinical laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosis of schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder, or psychotic depression, or first psychotic episode in a person using panel of 24 to 74 lipids in a biological sample. A biological sample of a person is taken and sampled, quantitative analysis of lipids is carried out, followed by calculation of a logistic regression index P. If P≥0.5, the presence of schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder, or psychotic depression, or the first psychotic episode in a person is diagnosed. If P <0.5, absence of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression, first psychotic episode is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides effective diagnosis of a mental state selected from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychotic depression and a first psychotic episode by using panel of 24 to 74 lipids.
