FIELD: furniture; construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of sealing and protecting ribs of volumetric furniture or construction products and can be used in the furniture industry (for example, the body of products, working surfaces in the bathroom, kitchen, furniture, and so forth), creation of building structures in rooms with normal and high level of humidity, for example, commercial equipment, areas for reception of visitors. Method of sealing and protecting ribs of said three-dimensional articles lined with coating layers comprises the following steps: on the finished product, having a joint of the coating layers on the edge, using mechanical cutting, a blind groove is made by cutting off the edge, selecting the coating layer and, in the case of the groove depth exceeding the thickness of the coating layer, base plate, obtained slots are filled with hardening moisture-resistant polymer material; after polymerisation, the polymer material is shaped by means of mechanical treatment in accordance with the artistic design concept and requirements of mechanical resistance and injury safety.

EFFECT: high moisture resistance of the joint and the absence of deformation of the base plates at the joint, high mechanical strength of the ribs of the obtained articles, and besides, invention allows to increase injury safety during operation and to provide aesthetics of visible joint of two covering layers.
