FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of contactless control of wheel rolling surface geometry, characteristics of wheel pairs of rail vehicles and evaluation of stability of wheel-rail interaction during train passage. Device contains optical measuring units installed on the base located along the rails, including triangulation 2D scanners, optical system for controlling the slope and track width, consisting of two 2D scanners, a rolling stock axle counter, control and computing system, including a personal computer, the first and second controllers, the wheel rolling surface parameters calculation controller, the control results data storage unit, library storage unit, printer and operator panel, external interface for information exchange with external systems, combined into a single post. Eight triangulation 2D scanners are mounted on a rigid base and spaced apart along the path of the wheel pairs along the rails with pitch of 1 meter, a temperature sensor is introduced, inputs of the information processing unit are connected to the output of the axes counter sensor, and the information input of the information processing unit is configured to read a full-scale sheet.
EFFECT: enabling determination of distance between flanges and difference in diameters of wheels in a pair when the standard is exceeded, transverse displacement of a wheel pair in a track and calculation of equivalent taper for each wheel pair.
