METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING MALE INFERTILITY Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2818459 C1

FIELD: medicine; andrology; ultrasonic diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for diagnosis of male infertility. Using an ultrasonic scanner Voluson E8 with width scanning aperture 50 mm in hardware mode "Small parts" and in the HD-flow mode at the first stage of ultrasonic scanning, the horizontal and vertical size of the Doppler window is measured in order to calculate the area of the scanned image fragment. At the second stage, the number of mapped blood flow loci with an intraparenchymal arrangement is counted, wherein one and the same vessel mapped fragmentarily is assessed as a single locus of blood flow, subcapsular loci of blood flow are not assessed. At the third stage, the density of the visualized blood flow loci is calculated per unit of scanning area 1 cm2 by dividing the blood flow loci by the area of the scanned area. If the number of mapped blood flow loci per 1 cm2 of scanning is 1.17 and more, male infertility is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables to determine the cause of sperm quality reduction, determine further therapeutic measures, evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and thereby improve the reproductive function in the population both in vivo and through programs of assisted reproductive technologies (IVF) by determining a chronic inflammatory process in the scrotum by ultrasonic determination of bilateral hypervascularization.
