FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of producing a coated mixed oxide of lithium and a transition metal, a cathode for a lithium storage battery and a lithium storage battery containing such coated metal oxides. In the method of producing a coated mixed lithium and transition metal oxide, a mixed lithium and transition metal oxide and a pyrogenically produced zirconium dioxide and/or a pyrogenically obtained mixed oxide containing zirconium, is subjected to dry mixing by means of electric mixing plant, characterized by specific electric power of 0.05–1.5 kW per kg of mixed lithium oxide and transition metal.
EFFECT: increased capacity, characteristics, and service life at cyclic load of accumulator battery.
