FIELD: packing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food packaging and relates to a multilayer sheet containing a foamed layer suitable for packaging food products. Multilayer sheet comprises at least two layers (A) and (B) in close contact with each other, where layer (A) is a foamed sheet comprising a polypropylene composition with high melt strength, and layer (B) is a non-foamed coated layer which includes a polypropylene composition. Invention describes a method of producing said multilayer sheet, an article and use of said multilayer sheet for making an article, preferably a milk package with improved water vapor and oxygen transmission properties. Invention provides creation of packing material with excellent barrier properties against penetration of oxygen and moisture in combination with good insulating properties, which allows to ensure long shelf life of packaged product.

EFFECT: use of one material in the invention provides easy and efficient recycling of used package using existing regeneration streams.
